FAITH ENRICHMENT GATHERING

Saturday November 26, 10:00 Saskatchewan Time (CST)

- THE SEED -

Everyone is cordially invited to gather next Saturday morning for a time of reflection,
song, prayer, meditation and sharing on the theme of "The Seed",
the second session on the Parable of the Sower.

You are invited to bring along a small bag of seeds with you for a special meditation.
It can be a seed packet, an envelope of your harvested seeds,
and if you don't have any at all, open your kitchen cupboard and grab a
small amount of mustard, caraway, coriander, sesame seeds, etc.

We have a special guest who will be helping us deepen our reflection on
the innate energy and life of the seed, and that is our own
Hélène Chénard from Moose Jaw, who is a Certified Clinical Herbologist.

Thank you Hélène for sharing your experiences with plants both on a healing and a spiritual dimension.

those who want a written resource to follow.

We hope to see you there as we are pretty sure you will enjoy the program,
and the pleasure of gathering together on this eve of Advent 2022.

Hope to see you there!

Our Loved Ones

I’m absolutely convinced that nothing

can separate us from Creator’s eternal love –

nothing living or dead,

nothing angelic or demonic,

nothing present or to come,

nothing high or low,

nothing thinkable or unthinkable –

absolutely nothing in all creation

can get between us and God’s great love

because of the way that Jesus, the Christ, has embraced us.”

Romans 8:38-39.

With sure and certain hope in Christ Jesus who died on the cross and was raise from death, the first fruits of all who have fallen asleep, we hold in sacred memory our loved ones who have gone before us to your Eternal Embrace.  May their memory be a blessing.

Faith Enrichment Team Announcement:

We’re back… and here we go!!

You know the expression “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread”? Well, that kind of sums up the Faith Enrichment Team of this beautiful MMICC! We don’t know if we are wise or foolish, but we’ve signed up for a new round of get-togethers this Fall. So… (big breath) 3 – 2 – 1 … here we go!

The Faith Enrichment Team cordially invites you to gather on the third Saturday of the next three months (October, November and December) for themed-inspired meet-ups that promise to be soul-satisfying and filled with life and joy.

During these sessions, we will be exploring the Parable of the Sower in three “movements”.

The Sower: Saturday, October 15th, 10:00 Saskatchewan time.

The Seed: November 26th, 10:00 Saskatchewan time. (Note:  This is a change of date from the previous announcement.)

The Soil: December 17th, 10:00 Saskatchewan time.

Saturday October 15: THE SOWER

This will be an opportunity for reflection, study and song, with time for our much-appreciated break-out rooms. Our Thanksgiving celebration will be all about the unsurpassed love of our God who sows wildly and generously no matter the condition of the soil.

We hope you to see you there!

KAIROS Regina is holding a candlelight vigil on Saturday, Nov. 12 on Albert St. Bridge from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm to pray for the people involved in COP27, the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and to raise public awareness of the issue of climate crisis.

Please park on a side street in the area south of the bridge, and proceed to the bridge- we will be on the east side, and if there are enough of us, we will also move some folks to the west side.

Candles will be provided. You are encouraged to make and bring a sign or poster that you can hold that would be visible to the public, and would say something about our concerns for our planet and our responsibilities in that regard. You can find information about some of the public demands of COP27, particularly from voices from the Global South, on the COP27 Coalition Website at https://www.cop27coalition.org/cop27 which might be useful for your posters.

Growing in Wisdom: Seeking Deeper Generativity is a two-year program for those who are embracing the second half of life and who are longing to explore the spiritual invitations of their wisdom years. How do I give my life to the world? And how do I prepare for eventual illness, diminishment and death, so that my death is my final blessing to my family, community and the world?

This program is rooted in the Forest Dwelling Program, Oblate School of Theology, and the ground-breaking work of Fr. Ron Rolheiser OMI. The program involves four 5-day intensives (September and February) over two years, monthly meetings with other participants in Elder Circles, a monthly meeting with a spiritual director, and optional monthly book studies. The Growing in Wisdom program is primarily offered on zoom. Applications are now being accepted for the September 2023 – June 2025 program. For more information, please contact Nancy Phillips, Coordinator, growinginwisdom@outlook.com.

You are invited to watch a recording of Fr. Ron’s recent webinar The Fruits of My Life in the Wisdom Years":

This Advent, WOC invites you to “Holy Women Wanderers,” a virtual retreat!

WHEN: December 6, 13, and 20, at 7-8:30 pm ET, via Zoom.

WHAT: An Advent retreat where we will “walk” with three Biblical women as our guides over three Tuesday evenings. With Hagar, the mother of Ishmael, we will meet “the God who Sees;” with Miriam the prophetess, who helped lead the Israelites through the desert, we will meet “the God who Frees;” and with Mary of Nazareth we will meet “the God who Conceives.”

Over Zoom, participants will have opportunities for prayer and reflection on these Biblical stories, journaling, small group conversation, and other creative prompts. The retreat will be facilitated by Crystal Catalan, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Presentation High School in San Jose and restorative justice practitioner. Readings and reflection questions will be sent as a workbook to retreatants, and a Facebook group will be available as a place for community-building and sharing between sessions.

WHO: For anyone who has felt they are journeying through difficult lands, personally or in the Church, and is looking for endurance and encouragement infused with the joyful hope of Advent. No Biblical degree or expertise needed. All are welcome and encouraged to join for as many sessions as you are able! Recordings will be made available for those who register.

Registration is open until December 1. Participants must be current members of WOC or become a member at the rate of $45, or $25 student/justice rate. Scholarships are available. Please contact Kate McElwee with questions or for scholarship information: kmcelwee@womensordination.org
