Our Community has received an invitation from
the Archdiocese of Regina to participate in a process of consultation
in a World Wide Synod.
This Synod originated in the Vatican with Pope Francis’ invitation “to
every community, parish, school, ministry, religious order and lay
association to reflect on the ways we can walk together as church.”
We brought together a MMICC Synod Team and planned dates for
conversation sessions to get your thoughts and stories on the theme.
The theme of the Synod, which will conclude in 2023, is “Synodality”,
which means “to walk the path together.” Synodality is about walking
together in a shared search for Christ in scripture, prayer and common
life. Our Archdiocesan consultation will conclude in February of 2022.
In particular, we are asked to reflect on the following two questions:
#1 - A Synodal church, announcing the Gospel, journeys together. How is
the “walking together” happening in your local parish / community?
#2 - What steps does the Spirit invite us to take in order to grow in our “walking together”?
Planned dates for our conversation sessions are:
Question #1 - Saturday, Dec.11, 10:00 - 11:30 am OR Monday, Dec.13, 7:00 - 8:30 pm CST
Question #2 - Saturday, Jan. 8, 10:00 - 11:30 am OR Monday, Jan.10, 7:00 - 8:30 pm CST
From these sessions, a draft report to the Archdiocese of Regina will be prepared.
We will come together one more time to review the report, share your comments and reflect on a third question:
Question #3 - In discernment and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, what other promptings do you wish to share?
Question #3 conversation session date is:
Monday, January 31, 7:00 - 8:30 pm OR Saturday, February 5, 10:00 - 11:30 am CST
You may choose either one (or both) of these dates for each session.
The zoom sessions will be facilitated in small groups and recorded.
We hope to see and hear from you on zoom, but if coming to the above
meetings does not work for you, there is another way to participate in
the Synod process - by online survey. You can comment anonymously to
