Our Loved Ones

I’m absolutely convinced that nothing

can separate us from Creator’s eternal love –

nothing living or dead,

nothing angelic or demonic,

nothing present or to come,

nothing high or low,

nothing thinkable or unthinkable –

absolutely nothing in all creation

can get between us and God’s great love

because of the way that Jesus, the Christ, has embraced us.”

Romans 8:38-39.

With sure and certain hope in Christ Jesus who died on the cross and was raise from death, the first fruits of all who have fallen asleep, we hold in sacred memory our loved ones who have gone before us to your Eternal Embrace.  May their memory be a blessing.

MMICC Synod Process and Final Report

EVENTS SPONSORED or RECOMMENDED BY MMICC MINISTRY TEAMS:

(If your email address is not already registered with MMICC, please contact mmiccRegina@gmail.com to receive correspondence and the Zoom link.)

Faith Enrichment Team Announcement:

We’re back… and here we go!!

You know the expression “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread”? Well, that kind of sums up the Faith Enrichment Team of this beautiful MMICC! We don’t know if we are wise or foolish, but we’ve signed up for a new round of get-togethers this Fall. So… (big breath) 3 – 2 – 1 … here we go!

The Faith Enrichment Team cordially invites you to gather on the third Saturday of the next three months (October, November and December) for themed-inspired meet-ups that promise to be soul-satisfying and filled with life and joy.

During these sessions, we will be exploring the Parable of the Sower in three “movements”.

The Sower: Saturday, October 15th, 10:00 Saskatchewan time.

The Seed: November 26th, 10:00 (Note:  This is a change of date from the previous announcement.)

The Soil: December 17th, 10:00

Saturday October 15: THE SOWER

This will be an opportunity for reflection, study and song, with time for our much-appreciated break-out rooms. Our Thanksgiving celebration will be all about the unsurpassed love of our God who sows wildly and generously no matter the condition of the soil.

We hope you to see you there!

NOTE: We will keep you posted about the October event through the Bulletin Board, as we might suggest that you bring along a particular article to the celebration.

Fall greetings to all,
Remember that this Saturday, October 15th, you are all invited to come together for a Faith Enrichment Session on the Parable of the Sower.  It all starts at 10:00 Saskatchewan Time (CST).  Grab a coffee and join us for a 45-minute (approx) filled with good will, music, prayer, sharing time, and more.

**** BRING ALONG: we invite you to bring a crusty roll, a loaf of bread, or a slice of anything you have at hand, as long as it is made with some sort of grain.  We will be using the bread for a meditative time. ****

You will find the program of the session on the Bulletin Board and if you want to follow along, you are welcome to do so.  You will find it handy to follow the songs.  At the bottom of the program notes, we have added the resources and websites we used for inspiration.

Hope to see you this Saturday morning with a big dose of quiet patience, as we are still figuring out things like sharing videos and audio clips.

Recurring event -- BODY PRACTICE:  My Grandmother's Hands

Teresa Elder Hanlon leads 15 min. of body practice for latent trauma in the body, often stored generationally.

Growing in Wisdom: Seeking Deeper Generativity is a two-year program for those who are embracing the second half of life and who are longing to explore the spiritual invitations of their wisdom years. How do I give my life to the world? And how do I prepare for eventual illness, diminishment and death, so that my death is my final blessing to my family, community and the world?

This program is rooted in the Forest Dwelling Program, Oblate School of Theology, and the ground-breaking work of Fr. Ron Rolheiser OMI. The program involves four 5-day intensives (September and February) over two years, monthly meetings with other participants in Elder Circles, a monthly meeting with a spiritual director, and optional monthly book studies. The Growing in Wisdom program is primarily offered on zoom. Applications are now being accepted for the September 2023 – June 2025 program. For more information, please contact Nancy Phillips, Coordinator, growinginwisdom@outlook.com.

You are invited to watch a recording of Fr. Ron’s recent webinar The Fruits of My Life in the Wisdom Years":

New Zealand Catholic women display 'pink shoes' to call for equality in the church

Hundreds of Catholic women in New Zealand contributed to a provocative public art protest on Sept. 18 calling for equality of women in the church.  [Note:  Leone M. RNDM, Patricia's friend and colleague, is a member of BE THE CHANGE.]

Women's shoes were displayed during the "Pink Shoes into the Vatican" event Sept. 18 in Auckland, New Zealand.

Patricia O. says:  I was quite amazed how clear and strong the American Bishops spoke out about ordination as a matter of JUSTICE.

Statement in the USCCB Synod report:

“There was a desire for stronger leadership, discernment, and decision-making roles for women – both lay and religious – in their parishes and communities: ‘people mentioned a variety of ways in which women could exercise leadership, including preaching and ordination as deacon or priest. Ordination for women emerged not primarily as a solution to the problem of the priest shortage, but as a matter of justice.’”

Statement in the CCCB Synod report:

" . . . all regional reports acknowledged receiving requests that women be granted access to ordained ecclesial ministries."
