From Jane K., Servant Leader of Mary of Magdala Inclusive Catholic Community:
Happy Feast Day, everyone! I hope you have time today to rejoice
with Mary, Pillar of enduring and faithful love, witness to the
Resurrection, and Apostle to the Apostles! Here are two links for
you to a powerful sermon given by Diana Butler Bass on the identity of
Mary based on the research of Libbie Schrader. The first is a
link to the audio recording; the second provides it in text. Some
of you may already have received this. What a difference an iota
makes!

Mary, with you, may we continue to turn until in our seeking
we find the one our hearts long for.
MMICC EcoJustice Team
invites you to use these two music offerings for some of your July
meditations.
Both celebrate the created
world in which we are blessed to live, and remind us of our sacred
relationship to both this world and its Creator. I am sure they will be
familiar! While they have been around a while, the content is timeless.
What a Wonderful
World
This is my
Father's World
Also, if you have not already done so, you might want to
check out the book Braiding
Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
From the review on Milkweed Editions (milkweed.org):
Drawing on her life as an indigenous scientist, a mother,
and a woman, Kimmerer shows how other living beings—asters and
goldenrod, strawberries and squash, salamanders, algae, and
sweetgrass—offer us gifts and lessons, even if we’ve forgotten how to
hear their voices. In a rich braid of reflections that range from the
creation of Turtle Island to the forces that threaten its flourishing
today, she circles toward a central argument: that the awakening of a
wider ecological consciousness requires the acknowledgment and
celebration of our reciprocal relationship with the rest of the living
world. For only when we can hear the languages of other beings will we
be capable of understanding the generosity of the earth, and learn to
give our own gifts in return. May you be moved to continue to support
and protect our precious world as we learn new ways (or relearn old
ways!) to live in right relationship with it.
FOLLOW-UP
FAITH ENRICHMENT EVENT
(of June 18th) on the theme of Peace for Ukraine and
for all persons affected by world conflicts.
*ATTENTION: This
note is for all the MMICC community, whether you were able to be
present for the last Faith Enrichment event or not.
We forgot to mention before ending the gathering, that
everyone is invited to use their bowl with the two rocks and the nail
clipper for the next little while, in order to help in remaining
“connected” to the theme of Peace.
Displaying the bowls in our homes will remind us all to pray for peace
and hope, and to “trim” our negative thoughts from our minds and
hearts. May we all use these bowls as “holders” of our prayer
intentions for the coming weeks. Everyone is invited to add to
the bowls any other pieces (drawings, pictures, verses, quotes, etc.)
whenever we feel inspired.
To all who have participated in the Faith Enrichment events since we
started them in January, please know we truly appreciate your
participation and trust. Every event was a special time for prayer,
reflection and connection, and we hope to continue in the Fall. All our
news will be displayed on the Bulletin Board.
Have a safe, joyful and blessed Summer,
The Faith Enrichment team,
Don, Judith, Denis and Susan, Jackie and Gerry, and Denise

-
We pray for
the people of Ukraine, and all the areas of the world where there are
unjust wars, to be relieved of the oppression they suffer. We pray
also for the oppressors to have a change of heart and compassion for
the people they persecute. And we pray for generosity in donations
for those refugees who have come to be part of our respective (safe)
communities.
All:
Loving God/de, we raise our prayer to you.
-
We pray for
those who have died and those who mourn their
loss, that they be reassured in the knowledge that they have entered
into their eternal home with Creator.
All:
Loving God/de, we raise our prayer to you.
- For those
who have asked us to pray for them and others – in the Chat, on the Bulletin Board, and in our own hearts.
All:
Loving God/de, we raise our prayer to you.
God of all, we turn
to you who are loving and who always hears us. Help us to hear you
